Corridor Mapping |
|
|
Helimap System SA has been very successful at corridor mapping.
Thanks to the flexibility of our system, we can provide complete coverage for corridor wide up to 500m at
very reasonable price, even for small lengths (4-5km to 150km).
In today's complex world, planning of complex projects such as powerlines, pipelines, road, railways often requires the study of many variants.
We at Helimap System® come in really handy when unforecast variants on short stretches need to be studied and planned.
In these cases, the cost and time needed to re-mobilize fixed-wing or classic systems are a hinderance to a rapid outcome of the project.
This is when Helimap System® will deliver its most value-added services to you.
Our solid experience covers the various fields of linear mapping such as:
Powerlines
Lidar is a revolutionnary tool for powerlines management and planning. Thanks to the multi-echo recording, it is possible to map
in addition to the hard surfaces (ground, building), thin elements such as wires, towers and vegetation.
Using powerful classification software, we are able to separate the ground model from all obstacles along the powerline axis.
We provide data compatible with all common planning software such as PLS-CADD. The combination of this 3D data
with high resolution orthoimages
and digital cadastre completes the dataset required to enable efficient management. Our services and products give powerline
management teams unprecendented power at making fact-based decisions with regard to maintenance and development of powerlines.
Our partners in powerline engineering enable us to offer a full-cycle service "from acquistion to realization".

Roads and Railways
High density DTM and high resolution orthoimagery now offer an essential tool for infrastucture planning or management.
Conventionnal fixed Lidar survey are affordable for long corridors and simple topography. For short sections (<100km) or in mountains
where altitudes are widely distributed, the application of the standard technique is expensive and fairly inefficient.
The use of helicopter and a the flexible Helimap System® allows us to provide very affordable surveying, data acquisition and
modeling even for short corridors (between 3 and 150km) with highly variable relief.
From DTM and orthoimages,
drawing including terrain breaklines and object classification can be quickly extracted.
We provide data compatible with all common planning and design software.

Shores and Coastlines
Problematic for conventional photogrammetry, coastline and shore mapping has become a business-as-usual service for our company,
thanks to the use of Helimap System®.
Combination of Lidar and high resolution images provides accurate and sharp data either for geomorphology or environnemental studies.
Our long-term experience in working with University and College research institutes, as well as our highly trained personnel guarantees
that we will understand your needs and provide you with the right service.

Rivers and Hydraulics
|
|
Erosion studies, flood mitigation projects, water management projects and environmental systems management
projects require very high accuracy ground and vegetation models. Thanks to the flexibility provided by Helimap System®,
we are able to tightly map river courses, floodplains, marshes, biotopes providing detailed models of river banks,
vegetation density, clearly defined flooding channels in floodplains and clear identification of biotope constituents.

Cablecars and Alpine Transport Systems
Planning the construction of a cablecar, a skilift or other alpine transport systems requires thorough analysis of technical issues
as well as potential environmental impacts. A fundamental need for those projects is a very precise 3D model of the environment the
project will be part of. This is of course a typical application of corridor mapping in mountains. Using Helimap System ® provides
accurate data (and a full set of information including orthophotos and obstacle identification) to plan the construction in less time
and at lesser cost than conventional terrestrial surveying or traditional photogrammetry. It is especially useful when the axis of the
planned installation crosses a cliff or forest and no other system can provide the 3D model of the obstacle with such precision and ease
as Helimap System®.
We have also applied for planning and design or maintenance projects for ski slopes or artificial snow production installations.

Pipeline
High density DTM and high resolution orthoimagery now offers an essential tool for infrastucture planning or management.
Conventionnal fixed Lidar survey are affordable for long corridors and simple topography. For short sections (< 100km), unforecast variants to add,
or in mountains where altitudes are widely distributed, the application of the standard technique is expensive and fairly inefficient.
The use of helicopter and the flexible Helimap System® allows us to provide very affordable surveying, data acquisition
and modeling even for short corridors (between 3 and 150km) with highly variable relief.
